These brands are top specialists in selecting and processing the best wood, sustainably grown and harvested around the world. From the logs, thin planks are cut which are rolled and pressed into solid sheets using a process unique to each brand. From these thin planks the frames are manufactured, each one different in color/grain.There are also different hinge types per brand that make the frames different from each other.

Gold and Wood is known for contemporary eyewear designs using high quality wood types such as dark ebony, purple wood and Bubinga. These are combined with contrasting materials and textures.
Rolf Spectacles is distinguished by innovative designs that harness the properties of wood, without color or prints. The glasses are made of plywood, vacuum-pressed and rounded, with the legs and grain blending seamlessly into the frame. Some models are 100% wood, including patented wooden hinges making Rolf frames truly unique.
W-eye is an Italian company where eyewear is made of laminated wood and aluminum. This composite material is flexible and resistant. W-eye received the National Award for Innovation and was included in the Museum Triennale di Milano for Italian design in 2012.
