Rob Siefers received his training in optics, optimetrics and contact lens specialism at the Cristiaan Huijgensschool in Rotterdam. He has been an optician since '78. After first having two beautiful stores in Friesland, Rob and his wife Sonja started Siefers Opticum in 2009, with the ambition of becoming the best optician in Limburg.
Rob about his work: "What I really like is the intensive contact with the people. We usually have them in the store at least three times; at an orientation, at the eye measurement and purchase and when the glasses are delivered. Those are at least three contact moments when you really do build a bond with the customers. These are fun encounters that we want to make sure people experience as such."
Sonja Siefers has studied interior design and a keen sense of fashion and eyewear styling. "For still too many people, their glasses are a necessary evil. While the right glasses are an ornament to the face."
Rob and Sonja ran and sold several successful optical businesses and an interior design store leading up to Siefers Opticum. This ultimate dream store embodies the best of both their experience and passion. A total experience combining the best possible optical care with designer frames, exclusive materials and fashion. "The name Siefers Opticum comes from Opticum Perfectum; striving for perfection ... that's what we do!"
Rob and Sonja did not dare to expect that their eldest son Laurens, with an education at the higher hotel school, would still be ignited by his parents' passion at the age of 23. He followed the optician and contact lens training with drive and ease and has been co-owner and manager of Siefers Opticum since 2017.
Laurens: "The basis of hospitality remains the same; if people are happy with one of our glasses, it makes me happy myself. And I like to really welcome them as a welcome guest. Taking on coat, cup of good coffee. Glasses are a product that you will be bothered by or enjoy for several years; you don't just buy them."

With a keen eye for technology and detail, Valentin specializes in highly precise eye examinations, combined with personalized lens advice. He uses the most advanced measuring equipment to provide each client with a perfectly tailored vision solution. In addition to his expertise in optics, Valentin is a true craftsman. In his workshop, he passionately works on exclusive eyewear made from gold, wood, and horn. His love for the craft is visible in every detail. Valentin is also the right person for limited edition frames and for restoring vintage glasses.
